This Single Serve Cinnamon Roll is the perfect recipe for when the craving hits but you don't want to make a whole tray. It's easy to make, perfectly fluffy and delicious.
Dough
- 1/2 cup all purpose flour
- 2 tsp granulated sugar
- 1/4 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp instant yeast
- 2 tsp oil, vegetable, coconut or olive oil
- 2 1/2 tbsp milk
Filling
- 2-3 tbsp salted butter, softened
- 3 tbsp dark brown sugar
- 2 tsp ground cinnamon
Buttercream Frosting
- 1/3 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tbsp milk or half & half
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F
To make the dough, combine the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, salt and instant yeast in a bowl. Mix until combined
Whisk the milk and oil together and heat in the microwave for about 30 seconds, it should be warm to the touch
Pour the warmed milk and oil into the dry ingredients
Combine until a ball of dough forms
Leave the dough in a floured bowl and cover for 30 minutes
After 30 minutes, roll out the dough until about 1/4 inch thick and the dough should be in a oval/rectangular shape
Spread the softened butter in an even layer until all edges are covered
Top the butter with the dark brown sugar and ground cinnamon
Using a knife or pizza cutter, cut the dough into three strips
Starting with the smallest, roll the dough tightly. Put the coil in the next largest strip and roll
Repeat with the last strip of cinnamon roll dough
Place the unbaked cinnamon roll into a greased ramekin or oven safe dish
Cover and let rise for 20-30 minutes
Bake for 18-20 minutes, the dough should have risen and filled out the ramekin
While the dough bakes, make the glaze topping
Once finished baking, let the cinnamon roll cool for about 5 minutes then top with the glaze
