This Whipped Chocolate Frosting is perfect on top of either chocolate or vanilla cakes. it's rich, decadent and absolutely delicious while also being easy to make.
- 1 cup salted butter, softened
- 2/3 cup cocoa powder
- 2 1/2 cups powdered sugar
- 1/3 cup milk
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
in a large mixing bowl, add the cocoa powder. whisk to remove any large clumps
add in the softened butter and whisk until fully combined (you can also use a hand mixer on the lowest speed)
measure 1 cup of the powdered sugar and add it to the bowl and give it a light mix
add the remaining powdered sugar, milk and vanilla extract. whisk until fully combined
if the mixture is too thick, continue to add 1/2 tbsp of milk until it reaches the desired consistency
