These Orange Cake Pops are a delicious treat and an easy to make dessert for any occasion. They have a moist center and filled with bright orange flavor that pairs perfectly with the chocolate coating.

Ingredients

  • 1 box Vanilla Cake Mix, 13-15 oz
  • Ingredients needed to make cake mix
  • 3 tsp Orange Flavoring, separated
  • 1 cup Vanilla Frosting
  • 12 oz Orange Candy Melts
  • 4 oz White Candy Melts
  • 20 Cake Pop Sticks

Instructions

  • Prepare the cake batter according to package instructions
  • Before transferring to the prepared pan, add 2 tsp of the Orange Flavoring
  • Mix into the batter until fully incorporated
  • Transfer the batter to the pan
  • Bake according to package instructions or until a toothpick comes out of the center clean
  • Let the cake cool completely
  • In a bowl, add the frosting and 1 tsp of Orange Flavoring
  • Mix until fully incorporated
  • Once the cake is cooled, remove from the pan and crumble the cake into a large mixing bowl
  • Add the frosting
  • Use an electric hand mixer to combine the crumbled cake and frosting
  • Once combined, put in the fridge to chill for 30 minutes
  • Portion out the dough using a cookie scoop, it should be about 1.5 tbsp of the batter
  • Roll into a ball and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper
  • Chill the cake balls for 10 minutes
  • Melt the white candy melts in a microwavable-safe bowl (Start with 30 seconds then short increments of 10-15 seconds to not overheat the chocolate)
  • Once melted, dip the end of a cake pop stick into the chocolate before pressing it into the cake pop ball. Place back on the parchment paper
  • Repeat until all cake pops have been completed
  • Put back in the fridge or freezer to chill for 20-30 minutes
  • At the end of the chilling time, melt the orange candy melts in a microwavable safe bowl. You want the bowl to be deep but not too wide, perfect for dipping/coating the cake pops
  • Dip each cake pop and coat in the chocolate
  • Place back on the parchment paper and repeat for all cake pops
  • Let the orange chocolate set in the fridge
  • Re-melt the white chocolate candy melts
  • Transfer the melted chocolate to a piping bag or ziploc bag
  • Cut a tiny tip at the end
  • Pipe zig zag lines on each cake pop and let the chocolate set completely
  • Enjoy!
