Apple Berry Crisp has a buttery crisp topping that is made of brown sugar, flour, rolled oats and cinnamon. Under the topping is a mixture of sweet, slightly tart fresh berries and sliced apples that have been coated in sugar and cinnamon. It pairs perfectly with ice cream for a comforting treat.
Apple Berry Filling Ingredients
- 1 cup Fresh Blackberries, rinsed/cleaned and dried thoroughly
- 1 cup Fresh Raspberries, rinsed/cleaned and dried thoroughly
- 3 medium-sized Apples, peeled and diced
- 1/4 cup Light Brown Sugar, packed
- 1 tbsp Lemon Juice
- 2 tbsp All Purpose Flour
- 1 tsp Ground Cinnamon
Crumb Topping Ingredients
- 1/2 cup Salted Butter, melted and slightly cooled
- 1 cup Rolled Oats
- 1/2 cup Light Brown Sugar, packed
- 2/3 cup All Purpose Flour
- 1 tsp Ground Cinnamon
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
Grease a 8x8 baking dish or circular pie pan with nonstick spray or butter.
To a large mixing bowl, add the prepared berries and apples along with the light brown sugar, lemon juice, flour and cinnamon. Mix gently until combined and all the fruit is coated.
Transfer to the prepared baking dish.
In a separate large mixing bowl, add the ingredients to make the crumble topping.
Mix until combined and a nice crumble has formed. There should be clumps and the texture shouldn’t be dry.
Spread in an even layer on top of the fruit mixture.
Bake in the oven for 40-50 minutes or until the topping is a golden brown color with the fruit juices bubbling through the top.
Let cool for 15-20 minutes.
Serve with vanilla ice cream and enjoy!
