Chia Berry Jam Recipe with Frozen Fruit

Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 45 minutes
Total Time: 50 minutes
Yield: 9 servings
This Chia Berry Jam is made with frozen fruit and a little bit of maple syrup. While you can use one type of berry, this recipe is made with three: strawberries, blueberries and raspberries. Each fruit adds its own dimension of flavor to create a delicious homemade jam.
It is an easy-to-make, tasty and nutritious recipe to substitute for a typical jam. While it is delicious on its own, it is the perfect addition to a slice of toast with nut butter or in a sweet breakfast bowl.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups frozen strawberries
  • 1 cup frozen blueberries
  • 1 cup frozen raspberries
  • 2-3 tbsps chia seeds
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup or honey
  • 1/2 lemon juice, optional

Instructions

  • Put a saucepan over medium heat with the frozen berries in it
  • Add 1/2 lemon squeeze (optional)
  • Add the sweetener and chia seeds, mix until fully combined
  • After the fruit softens, lower the heat to a simmer. Consistently stir and mash the fruit to break it down
  • Continue until the mixture becomes a jam-like texture.
  • Let cool slightly and pour into a mason jar to store.
  • Enjoy by the spoonful, on toast or add it to recipes like my PB and J Overnight Oats recipe!
