This Whipped Chocolate Frosting is perfect on top of both chocolate or vanilla cakes. It's rich, decadent, smooth and absolutely delicious, while also being easy to make.
- 1/2 cup salted butter, softened
- 8 oz plain cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 3 1/2 cups powdered sugar
- 2 tbsp heavy cream
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
Add the softened butter and cream cheese to a large mixing bowl along with the heavy cream and vanilla extract
Use an electric hand mixer and combine until smooth and creamy
Add 1 cup of the powdered sugar and the cocoa powder
Mix again until combined
Add the remaining powdered sugar
Mix until fully combined and there are no clumps in the frosting
(Note: If the mixture is too thick, to 1 tsp of heavy cream or whole milk until it reaches your desired consistency. If the frosting is too thin, add 1-2 tbsp of powdered sugar at a time until you are happy with the consistency.)
