Frequently Asked Questions

Can this recipe be gluten free friendly?

Yes! Just use Gluten Free Bread Flour instead and substitute at a 1:1 ratio.

Do I have to let the dough rise?

Of course, the two separate rising times are important to yield light and fluffy dinner rolls.

Are there any substitutes for the olive oil?

I highly recommend using olive oil for this recipe, however, vegetable oil should work as well.

Can I freeze the dough before baking?

You can!

First, follow all the instructions including both rising sessions. When it comes time to add the rolls to a baking dish, you will instead add them to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Put the tray in the freezer until solid then transfer the rolls to a freezer safe container or ziplock bag.

How do I store leftover rolls for ultimate freshness?

Store the rolls at room temperature for up to 5 days in a sealed Ziplock bog or airtight container. You can also freeze the rolls in a freezer-safe container for up to 1 month.

Note: Let the baked dinner rolls cool completely before freezing.
