parmesan bread bites

Truffle is a flavor that you either love or hate. And I for sure am a lover!

Adding truffle zest to this parmesan bread was a game changer. It makes something simple feel so elegant.

In addition to the truffle zest, you can customize this recipe to your taste buds. You can swap out the parmesan for your favorite cheese.

You can add a sauce such as pesto, marinara or tomato basil. The limit does not exist!

However, for this recipe, the shaved parmesan adds the perfect amount of saltiness to the toast. It nicely contrasts the freshly sliced tomatoes.

And the truffle zest? It’s luxurious, rich and absolutely delicious.

Main Ingredients

  • Sourdough Bread
  • Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh Tomato
  • Truffle Zest
  • Salt
  • Pepper

What is truffle zest?

It’s delicious, that’s what!

In all seriousness, truffle powder is made by grounding black summer truffles. They are both aromatic and earthy.

Fun fact, it is a low-calorie and low-sodium seasoning!

Truffle Zest is loaded with real black truffle flavors and aromas to take your taste buds on a dream vacation. You don’t have to go to a fancy restaurant for a luxurious experience.

My favorite ways to use truffle zest are on this parmesan bread, pasta or pizza!

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best bread to use for this recipe?

Any bread will work! I love to pick up a fresh loaf of sourdough when I know I’ll be making this tasty recipe during the week.

However, an Italian baguette, ciabatta or a slice from your favorite loaf bread will work.

Where can I buy truffle zest?

You can buy truffle zest on the Sabatino Truffles website or Amazon!

How else can I use truffle zest?

I love to add it to a cheesy pasta dish or even pizza! Some people also enjoy it in their eggs for breakfast.

How do I know when the parmesan bread bites are done cooking in the oven?

The cheese will be fully melted! This is the best indicator to know the bites are ready. Since it’s already been in the oven, the bread should be crispy too.

Can I make this ahead of time?

You can! Once you’re done making it, let it cool completely. Then store in an airtight container for up to three days.

When ready to eat, reheat it in the oven at 350 degrees F for 5-10 minutes.
