Frequently Asked Questions

Are these muffins gluten-free friendly?

If you use and all purpose gluten-free flour, then this recipe is gluten free.

Can I use frozen blackberries?

You can, but I think fresh works best and doesn’t turn the batter a pink/purple color. If you are using frozen, still toss them in the flour before folding into the batter.

What is the trick to getting muffins to rise so high?

The biggest factor is using the right amount of baking soda and baking powder. However, resting the batter and placing the muffin liners in every other mold also help create tall muffins.

How do I know the muffins are done baking?

When a toothpick comes out of the center clean. You don’t want to see any batter on it.

What is the best way to store leftover muffins?

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or in the fridge for 5. You can also freeze the muffins in a freezer-safe container for up to 1 month.
