I think it’s safe to say that if you’re here, you like butter. While butter is delicious on it’s own, it is nothing like this cinnamon butter sweetened with whipped honey. It adds just the right amount of sweetness while also making the butter light and airy.

I love to make this for Sunday brunch to add on top of a beautiful pancake stack. Need a pancake recipe? Try my Buttermilk Pancakes or Healthy Low Calorie Pancakes recipe.

One of my favorite parts about this recipe is that it is so easy to make. You barely have to lift a finger. You can add all of the ingredients into a food processor or blender and it does the work for you! The butter comes out nice and fluffy. The texture is light, spreadable and irresistibly delicious.

Ingredient Notes

For the measurements and specifications, scroll down to the recipe card below.

  • Butter – Use softened salted butter for the easiest whipping and the best sweet-salty balance. If you use unsalted butter, add salt to taste.
  • Honey – Honey sweetens the butter and keeps it soft and creamy, so different honey varieties can slightly change the sweetness and texture.
  • Cinnamon – Ground cinnamon adds warm flavor throughout without changing the fluffy texture.

How to make Whipped Honey Butter with Cinnamon

  1. Let the butter come to room temperature until you can easily press a finger into it.
  2. Add the softened butter to a mixing bowl and beat for about 30 seconds until smooth.
  3. Add the honey and cinnamon.
  4. Mix until combined, scrape down the sides, then whip again until the butter looks light and fluffy.
  5. If using a food processor instead, pulse until smooth and airy, then serve right away or chill.

How to Store and Serve

Store the butter in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or in the fridge for 1 month. To bring to a spreadable temperature, leave out at room temperature for about 60 minutes.

For serving, there are endless possibilities! Add it on top of a slice of bread, stack of waffles or pancakes, french toast and it can even used in cinnamon rolls.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use a sweetener other than honey?

Yes. Agave or maple syrup can work, but they may change the sweetness and softness slightly.

What texture should I expect?

It should be light, fluffy, and easy to spread when the butter is properly softened and whipped.

Can I use unsalted butter?

Yes. Add salt to taste so the butter still has balance with the sweetness of the honey.
