Holding an Italian Slider in my hand.

These are one of my favorite sliders to make.

Besides being delicious, they are incredibly easy to make too.

The Italian meats pair perfectly with the provolone cheese and bright arugula tossed in pesto.

If you are in need of an easy meal to have throughout the week, this recipe is perfect for you!

Whether it’s lunch or dinner, these sliders will be there for you to enjoy.

Main Ingredients

Proper Layers in a Good Slider Sandwich

The meat, the cheese and the greens.

These are the three main layers to any sandwich.

A perfect sandwich will also have the right amount of each layer. Slightly more meat than cheese. And just the right amount of greens to provide contrast.

But the greens don’t overpower the other flavors.

These Italian Sliders with Ham and Cheese are the perfect bite.

You have acidity from the pesto and tomatoes which perfectly contrasts the fat in the cheese and meats.

All brought (and held) together by a delicious and slightly sweet hawaiian roll.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Hawaiian Roll package comes with 12 rolls, what do I do?

The ones I get at Trader Joe’s come with 12 rolls. I usually slice off a row of 3 and just use 9 sliders. However, you can use all 12 rolls and increase the amount of ingredients as needed.

What other types of cheese can I use?

You can use any type of cheese that you’d like. Provolone, in my opinion, works the best. However, a cheese like mozzarella would also be delicious.

Do I have to use ham in this recipe?

Nope! You can omit the ham and just use salame and pepperoni.

Will other types of lettuce work instead of arugula?

You could also use romaine lettuce in this recipe. However, I think the arugula is the best choice for tossing in the pesto and to pair with the other ingredients.

Can I make these sliders ahead of eating them?

Yes! If serving, don’t make more than one day prior, however, the day of is best. You can make these sliders on a Sunday and enjoy them throughout the week as meal prep too.

How do I store any leftover sliders?

If you need an easy meal prep recipe, this one is perfect! You can store any leftover sliders in an airtight container for up to 4 days in the fridge.
