Layering a Sandwich Properly

Many wonder, what is the best way to layer a sandwich?

There are certain ways to do it, not just to keep the sandwich together, but also for freshness.

To start, you will spread the honey mustard on the bottom half of the bread.

From there, layer the heavier vegetables. In this case, that would be the fresh tomato slices.

Next, add the deli meat and cheese in even layers.

Lastly, add the fresh romaine on top, followed by the top layer of the rolls.

Each bite will have an equal amount of each ingredient, creating the perfect bite every time!

How to Make Easy Turkey Sliders

  1. Slice the Hawaiian rolls in half, cutting through the middle to create two equal layers
  2. On the bottom half, spread the honey mustard
  3. Place on the thin tomato slices
  4. Layer on the deli turkey slices evenly
  5. Add the slices of deli white cheddar cheese
  6. Top with pieces of crisp romaine lettuce
  7. Place the top bun layer back on top
  8. Use a sharp knife to cut the buns
  9. Enjoy!

Frequently Asked Questions

What should I serve with sliders?

If you don’t want to serve the classic bag of potato chips. I recommend serving: Crispy Carrot Fries, Baked Sweet Potato Chips or Crispy Potato Wedges.

Should these Turkey Sliders be served warm or cold?

This recipe is intended to be served cold. As it contains romaine lettuce it would get soggy if heated in the oven.

However, if you would like to warm the sliders, omit the lettuce completely or add it after heating.

Do I have to use cheddar cheese?

Nope! You can use any deli sliced cheese that you desire. I don’t recommend using any shredded cheese as that could easily fall out of the sandwich.

How do I store the leftover Turkey Sliders?

Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days.

Will the sliders get soggy in the fridge?

They shouldn’t, especially if you don’t add the honey mustard to the sliders before storing. However, I added it and they kept well in the fridge for the 4 days.
