This truly is the perfect single serve dessert to celebrate fall!
While I love making my full version of Apple Crisp, I don’t always need to make such a big batch.
This recipe may be smaller but it is easy to make and incredibly delicious.
The cinnamon apples are soft and taste like fall in every bite. Topped with a sweet, buttery crumble, it is absolute perfection.

Fruit Variations
What if it isn’t peak apple season, can this recipe made with other fruits?
The short answer is, yes!
- Berry Crisp: You can swap out the apples for berries. You might want to toss the fruit in 1/2 tsp of cornstarch since berries typically have a higher water content.
- Peach Crisp: Substitute at a 1:1 ratio and follow directions as instructed.
- Plum Crisp: Substitute the apple for a plum at a 1:1 ratio and follow directions as instructed.
Tips and Tricks
- Don’t over-bake the crisp! It could leave a burnt taste in your mouth and the apples will become mushy.
- Cut the apples thin enough so that they cook through. If the slices are too thick, you will be biting into crunchy apple slices.
- When making the crumble, use dark brown sugar to add more moisture to the topping.
