Ingredients

- 1 cup gluten free flour
- ½ tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp baking soda
- ½ tsp ground cinnamon
- ¼ tsp ground nutmeg
- 2 tbsp butter or coconut oil melted
- ¼ cup brown sugar packed
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- ¼ cup almond milk
- ¼ cup apple cider
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1-2 small apples diced in small chunks
cinnamon sugar coating
- ¼ cup butter melted
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
Instructions
- preheat the oven to 350 degrees F and spray the donut pan with nonstick spray
- in a large mixing bowl combine the sugars with the butter, almond milk, apple cider, vanilla extract
- mix until fully combined
- fold in the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon and nutmeg until fully combined
- add the small chunks of apples and fold into the batter
- using a piping bag or spoon, add the batter into the donut pan
- bake for 10-12 minutes or until donuts are fluffy with the edges lightly browned
- transfer the donuts to a wired rack that is topped with parchment paper to cool
- let cool for about 10 minutes before coating
- combine the cinnamon and sugar together in a wide, shallow dish
- melt the butter in a wide and shallow dish
- dip the donuts into the butter then roll in the cinnamon sugar mixture covering all sides
- these donuts are best enjoyed fresh!
