why make THIS apple crisp recipe?
hands down, this is the BEST apple crisp i have ever made or had. whether it's at a restaurant or homemade - this is it!
the reason why it's so good is because it's a double the crumble apple crisp. in my opinion, the crumble on top is the best part. it is the perfect contrast to the cinnamon sugary apples underneath.
last, but definitely not least! this apple crisp is incredibly easy to make. you just need a few simple ingredients and you are ready to roll!
how to make spiced apple crumble
- first things first! you need to get a pan. i recommend using a deep pie dish for making this apple crumble recipe
- preheat the oven to 350 degrees F
- slice the apples. i prefer to slice the apples instead of chunks because they are able to cook all the way through
- some recipe keep the apples plain, however, i find that the apples caramelize better when mixed with a little sugar and cinnamon. therefore, mix the apples with the granulated sugar and spices.
- make the crumble topping. this topping comes together easily with just a few ingredients.
- add the apple mixture to the bottom of the pie dish
- next you will sprinkle the crumble on top in an even layer. press down slightly after to create a smooth top
- bake for 45-60 minutes until the edges are browned and apples are fully cooked
- you don't HAVE to do this but it is helpful to let cool before scooping so that the apple mixture is able to thicken
- enjoy

you will know the crisp is done baking when the edges are golden and the crumble on top is fully cooked. the apples should be soft and bubblng.
once the apple crumble is fully cooled, store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days!
