Frequently Asked Questions

What is the secret to good fudge?

Butter. The fat helps create a creamy fudge texture. Also, for this specific recipe, you don’t want to overheat/burn the chocolate when making the fudge in the saucepan.

Why is my fudge grainy?

With this recipe, your fudge shouldn’t be grainy as it doesn’t use granulated sugar. However, sifting the powdered sugar helps to avoid any clumps of sugar or unpleasant texture.

What is the best way to store the Dark Chocolate Fudge?

For this specific recipe, store the fudge in the fridge in an airtight container for up to 3 weeks. Most fudge can be stored at room temperature for a week. However, this homemade will stay better in the fridge due to its minimal ingredients.

Can you freeze fudge?

Yes, you can freeze fudge to preserve it for up to 4 months. To freeze, wrap the individual pieces in plastic wrap or foil, then place them in an airtight container or freezer bag. Try to remove as much air as possible from the bag before freezing.

When ready to eat, thaw by placing the container in the refrigerator overnight or letting it thaw on the counter for a few hours.
