Sliced Peanut Butter and Marshmallow Rice Krispie Treats.

Rice Krispie Treats was always one of my favorite snacks as a kid. If I got one in my lunch at school, I was ecstatic!

And I’m not going to lie, I still love them! But now, I make them myself at home.

I wanted to put a fun twist on this childhood favorite by adding peanut butter and using some peanut butter cereal with the classic Rice Krispies cereal.

The peanut butter flavor is absolutely delicious and pairs well with the marshmallow.

It balances out the sweetness while still satisfying that nostalgic feeling we all love in a Rice Krispies Treat!

Tips and Tricks

There are a few tips and tricks that you can do to make these Peanut Butter Rice Krispies Bars the most delicious and also the easiest to make!

Tips for Making the Bars

Using nonstick spray! This not only helps when removing from the pan but in other ways as well.

Spray your hands with nonstick so that you can easily press the mixture into the pan without it sticking to your hands.

When slicing the bars, spray your knife lightly with nonstick spray so that the knife doesn’t stick to any of the marshmallows.

When melting the marshmallows, make sure the heat is low to avoid the treats being too hard after setting.

Tips for the BEST Flavor and Texture

You want to make sure you’re using a high quality and pure vanilla extract.

Another tip is to melt the marshmallows on a low heat. If you burn the marshmallow mixture in the pot, that flavor will transfer into the treats as well.

Last, but definitely not least, make sure your marshmallows are fresh! Even if the marshmallows melt, it will be harder to chew the bars once set.
