I love to make my Gluten Free Buttermilk Pancakes but also make my Low Calorie Healthy Pancakes when I’m looking to add more protein to my breakfast.

What are the best pancake mixes to use?

In my opinion, the best pancake mix to use is the one that YOU like the best and the one that you conveniently have on hand.

However, if you’re looking to purchase a new one…here are my favorites!

How to Make Birthday Cake Pancakes

  1. Make the pancake mix or pancake recipe of choice
  2. Heat a skillet or pan over medium heat and spray with non-stick
  3. After you let the pancake batter rest according to the instructions, pour the batter into a pan
  4. The pancakes should be about 4 or 5 inches in width
  5. Add some sprinkles on top of the pancake batter
  6. Flip once the bubbles start to form and the pancake can be easily flipped
  7. The pancake should have a perfectly golden color with a crisp ring around the edges
  8. Spray the pan in between each round of pancakes and repeat until the batter is used up
  9. Now it’s time to make the glaze! Combine the powdered sugar and almond milk until fully combined
  10. Stack up your pancakes, drizzle with the vanilla glaze and top with extra sprinkles
  11. Enjoy!

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I add other mix-ins to the pancake batter?

Yes! You can add nuts, fruit and nut butter to the pancakes/pancake batter. The result of the pancake batter shouldn’t be affected.

I would recommend not using frozen fruit as that will add too much liquid to the batter.

How do I know the pan is ready/hot enough to add the batter?

Without touching the pan, you should be able to hold your hand above it and feel the warmth.

How do I know the pancakes are ready to flip?

The pancakes will have little bubbles appear through the batter. You will also want to make sure that the bottom of the pancake can easily be moved and lifted before flipping.

I have leftover pancakes, how can I store them?

Store in an airtight container for up to 5 days in the fridge or in the freezer for up to 2 months. Don’t add the glaze until you are ready to eat! You can make it fresh and add prior to eating.

How do I reheat leftover pancakes?

Reheat in the microwave at 30 second increments until it reaches your desired temperature. Make sure to use a microwave safe plate/dish when heating.
